Bestway Sandwiches Inc., a company based in Valencia, California, is recalling nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen chicken and cheese taquito products due to potential metal contamination, the the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced yesterday January 11, 2025.
The recall affects specific taquito items that may contain small pieces of metal, posing a risk to consumer safety.
The affected products were produced on two dates, July 3, 2024, and September 25, 2024. They were shipped to various ALDI grocery stores across the country.

This recall involves 20-ounce carton packages of CASA MAMITA CHICKEN & CHEESE TAQUITOS with Best By dates of July 3, 2025, and September 25, 2025.
These packages also display establishment number “EST. P-40327” on the label.
The problem was first discovered after a consumer reported finding a piece of metal in the taquitos. In a separate case, another consumer reported suffering a dental injury from consuming the product.
Thankfully, no further injuries or illnesses have been reported so far.
The FSIS is urging anyone who purchased these taquitos to avoid eating them. Instead, consumers should dispose of the product or return it to the store where it was purchased for a refund.
FSIS is also monitoring the recall to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers and will publish a list of affected retail locations on its website as soon as it becomes available.
